The seaside and the Rainforest, Punta Cana has all of it!
The Chavon River is a lovely waterway that runs 30 minutes west of Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. This rugged area is a haven overgrown with rainforest plants. It is, undeniably, a recommendable site to visit by boat or in canoe. Experience the waterway where Anaconda was filmed. The waterway moves through a deep gorge to the Caribbean Sea just east of La Romana. The banks are overgrown with a mix of dry tropical forest and actual tropical rainforest. Typical river boats leave just outside La Romana, a 30 minute taxi fare from the Punta Cana airport.

On the banks of this beautiful waterway you can locate a heaven in the jungle: the Tanama Jungle Ranch. You can explore this wonderful jungle refuse while vacationing in Punta Cana or Bayahibe. Surrounded by hills covered with true rainforest the ranch shows a multitude of local animals and plants. You can touch the iguanas, parrots, snakes and tarantulas. The excursion aims to show you fun realities and weird appearances in this jungle ... the Wonders of Nature Tour ...

The Jungle Eco excursion discovers the National Park del Este near Bayahibe and the Rio Chavon. The park is home to more than 500 flora species, 300 sorts of birds, and long stretches of beaches and underwater wonders, the National Park of the East is just one of the most visited and protected areas in the country. While here visitors can trail, uncover ancient Taino ruins or join bird watching adventures.

Both adventures are sold by PuntaCanaExcursions.com. Book online and save! Take a look at the great video!
